Why? Task Mission
Finding the trade-off function between technology solutions, energy security and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions for the transport sector and energy production on national and global levels. Science-driven higher-level analysis of the most prominent and realistic solutions for cost and time effective decarbonization. Contribution to expanding the knowledge in areas of technology and fuel effects on the present and future systems.

Key Deliverables
- Delivering system-level data, tools, instructions, and recommendations for decision-making within the whole value chain.
- Characterization of new technologies powered by renewable fuels.
Activities
- Higher-level analysis of solutions for the transport sector and energy production
- Research and development of clean combustion technologies, as well as assessing the impact of combustion advances on the overall performance of various combustion systems
- Analyzing the impact of novel solutions on current & future fleets of vehicles, vessels, and aircraft.
Policy Relevance
System Analysis reveals the impact of new technologies and solutions on the higher energy structures, by analyzing and assessing their life cycle decarbonization potential and the dynamics of selected solutions in the sustainable technology transition. The outcomes can assist the decision-making processses, by indicating solutions that have the highest potential for the reduction of GHG emisssions while ensuring the security of energy supply in various systems both at the present time as well as in the future scenarios.
